Blenheim Bib Martingale Attachment BlackThe Blenheim Bib Martingale Attachment works in the same way as a running martingale, but is a safer option. When horses shorten their necks, the reins run the risk of catching and the Bib reduces this risk whilst also keeping the reins closer together and preventing them from coming over the head. Also perfect for horses who like to grab hold and have a nibble of their martingales, as they will find it difficult to grab onto the bib.A Bib martingale is best used on horses that tend to raise their head too high to avoid contact or throw their head up to avoid work.The Bib martingale works by adding pressure on the reins through to the bit on the horses mouth whenever their head is above the desired point. This pressure/leverage encourages the horse to lower its head.Head raising can be a behavioural issue or a sign of pain.
