The novel was written by French author and aviator, Antoine De Saint Exupery. The 30-minute counter takes residence at the top of the dial, balanced by the 12-hour totaliser at 6 o’clock. The 9 and 3 o’clock locations are occupied at a running seconds counter and a day-date feature respectively.
