Taking inspiration from the natural beauty of the Ore Mountains, the PanoMaticLunar watch from Glashutte Original captures the intense green shades of the coniferous forests that blanket the picturesque location where the company’s manufacturing facilities takes residence. Developed in-house by craftsmen based at Pforzheim, the gradient dial begins as a rich green centre and erupts into a darker tone around the periphery of the dial. An off-centre main timekeeping dial is joined by a small second counter at 7 o’clock and a moonphase indicator between 1 and 2 o’clock. The surfaces created by a diamond milling tool echo a star-studded sky. Beneath this is a legible date window set against a white background. The white gold hands and indexes of this men’s 40mm Glashutte Original PanoMaticLunar watch communicate the brand’s passion for luxurious finishes and exquisite details. On the reverse of the watch, the Calibre 90-02 is put on show through a sapphire crystal glass lens. It performs at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a useful 42-hour power reserve. Completed with striped finishes, blued screws and a hand-engraved balance cock, the innovative exhibition glass showcases some of the company’s most meticulous craftsmanship to date.
