Langres Cheese 180g - Brandy Washed Cheese
Brand: Schertenleib Fromagerie
Langres is a popular, distinctive French cows' milk cheese that has a rind washed with Marc de Bourgogne brandy. A pungent and creamy cheese with a fruity and boozy note. A classic French beauty. A French cow' milk cheese that originated from the plateau of Langres in the region of the Champagne Ardennes, France. Since 1919, the cheese has been granted AOC (now AOP) designation. Covered in a distinctive, wrinkly orange rind, the central pate is a bit soft and crumbly, and appears creamy in colour. It is slightly salty with a strong aroma. The firm pate melts in the mouth, leaving a complex taste. Pretty on a cheeseboard, and goes well with a salad, Red Wine from Burgundy, Marc de Bourgogne or Champagne. Milk Type: Cow Cheese Type: Semi-soft washed rind Pasteurised/Unpasteurised: Unpasteurised Suitable for Vegetarians: No Type of Rind: Washed rind Country of Origin: France Region: Champagne Ardenne
