Robert Sorby 1/2" Fingernail Spindle Gouge (Unhandled, Sovereign Compatible) - 840F.1/2 Key Features: Ideal for fine detailing in spindle work. Having the wing tips of the gouge ground back into the fingernail profile reduces the danger of catching when working in confined areas of the turning. The gouge has an overall length of 16-1/2". These tools have a shallow flute grind unlike bowl gouges. Many turners prefer to turn their tool handles to their own specifications. For those turners we offer here the un-handled version of Sorby& standard Spindle Gouge blade. These High Speed Steel (HSS) un-handled blades are identical to the ones found on the handled versions. The blade listed here will also fit the Sorby Sovereign System Handles. A Collet Adapter may be required if used with the Sovereign System. Check your manual for the size collet required if, any.
