Robert Sorby Fingernail Bowl Gouge - Deep Flute, Unhandled - 842F.1/2 Key Features: Now available with fingernail grind. Increased flexibility allows for 'pull' cuts - avoiding catching lathe bed. Greater cutting tip area can be used, for heavy profiling cuts and fine, delicate shearing cuts. Easily maintained and sharpened using the Robert Sorby ProEdge sharpening system. These tools have a deep flute grind unlike spindle gouges. Many turners prefer to turn their tool handles to their own specifications. For those turners we offer here the un-handled version of Sorby's standard Fingernail Bowl Gouge blade. These High Speed Steel (HSS) un-handled blades are identical to the ones found on the handled versions. The blade listed here will also fit the Sorby Sovereign System Handles. A Collet Adapter may be required if used with the Sovereign System. Check your manual for the size collet required if, any. Tools with handles are coded with an LH.
