Providing up to 60mm plunge capacity and 38mm cutter capacity, The T18S/R14 exceeds all competitor 1/4in routers on the market, with the extra cutting depth and increased cutter capacity offering increased functionality on multiple applications whether moulding, jointing, rebating or jig use. The Trend Revolution Brushless Motor supplies the torque to realise these capacities and achieve professional results time after time and has additional benefits such as lighter overall weight and a slimmer profile to reduce fatigue in use. Alongside this, you also get longer run time, increased efficiency and increased reliability compared to brushed motors. The motor delivers constant speed under load for consistent finishes. Variable speed function (10000 – 30000 rpm) allow the user to cut multiple materials from hard and soft woods through to laminates and plastics without causing chattering or burning. With compact laminates now an integral part of the contemporary designs in kitchens, the T18S/R14 can also cut the narrower intersecting worktop joints, so coupled with the rest of the Trend Trinity Range of battery tools you can be truly cord free on major work such as a kitchen installation. Runtime tests in this area saw the router achieve 134 75x20x2mm hinge recesses cut into Ash using the Slimline 4Ah battery; equivalent to 33 internal doors using 2 hinges per door. In the intumescent strip test, 40.6 metres of 10mm x 4mm grooving in Oak was achieved using the Trend C209X1/4TC intumescent strip cutter with the 4Ah battery equivalent to 7 doors with strips on all four edges. Additional benefits include trimming laminates, biscuit jointing, edge moulding, rebating and detailing, and when templating and jigs are in use, the guide bush centralising feature ensures every set up is pinpoint accurate for precision fits. The two base options ensure the router can be quickly and easily set up to suit the work in hand, with the plunge base the ‘go to’ for general woodworking including jig and template work, keeping the cutter retracted prior to use to prevent damage to the jig or template. For repeat work such as batch moulds like round overs or chamfers on an edge, the fixed base with anti-tip base allows the cutter projection to be set and held, vastly increasing the speed and accuracy in which the work can be achieved. Both bases also have intuitive and easy adjustments so you can quickly set the cutting depth and get straight to work. The fixed base has a rack and pinion winding adjuster to fine tune the depth, with the plunge base having enhanced adjustments with the inclusion of a rotating turret that works in conjunction with the depth post. The depth post includes a separate depth setting collar for repeatable cuts as needed along with a fine height adjustment for precision depth setting; ideal for jointing, inlaying and fitting components.
