Robert Sorby 888/3 - Micro Parting Tool Key Features: A smaller version of the full size diamond parting tool, the special profile of this tool reduces the risk of binding in the cut. It also reduces the amount of heat build-up caused by friction, thereby lessening the chance of burning the bottom of the parted-off project. Possesses a fine 2mm cutting edge. This range of tools was devised by Robert Sorby following the success of the Sovereign system. This miniature version is centred on two sizes of alumninium handle in to which a series of micro tools can easily be fitted. This gives the turner the option of extra flexibility as they build up their own collection of the custom-built tools that fit this system.
