Chocolate Capercaillie Eggs by The Chocolate Detective 150g
Brand: The Chocolate Detective
These delicious eggs are made in France with a buttery salted caramel ganache, and the use of a touch of 'fleur de sel' salt in the caramel intensifies the flavour. These are part of The Chocolate Detective's Curated Collection - her very favourite products from a lifetime of tasting chocolate. These eggs are the same as the salted caramel in the cuckoo which were selected as a Best Buy and given 5 stars in Jeremy Lee's (Quo Vadis) taste test for the Observer last Easter. Successfully reintroduced to Britain in the 19th century, this secretive bird has survived in what remains of our native pine forest, mainly in Scotland. The male Capercaillie has a prolonged croaking song that accelerates rapidly followed by a cork-popping sound and hissing and gurgling noises thereafter! A bird that goes to those sorts of lengths to bring attention to himself had to be part of this collection! 12 eggs. About the Producer The Chocolate Detective takes her magnifying glass and examines every piece of chocolate. With her years of knowledge and experience, she can guide the way between the most ethical and delectable chocolate with utmost transparency. Chantal Coady OBE is the Chocolate Detective. A sustainable chocolate expert and lifelong chocolate activist.
