The Piri Piri chilli, also known as the African Bird's
Eye Chili (Capsicum frutescens), is an extremely hot member of the
Capsicum family which registers at up to 100,000 Scoville heat
units (SHU), by comparison a pimento pepper registers at between
100-500 SHU's. Our piri piri spice is fiery blend of garlic, salt,
chilli, onion, basil and cayenne pepper, a little goes a long way
and can be used to add spicy heat to meat, poultry and fish dishes.
