Nurofen for Children Suspension Double Strength 200mg/5ml Strawberry Nurofen for Children Double Strength is an oral ibuprofen suspension for short-term relief of pain and fever in children. It is recommended for children aged 712 years (not intended for children under 7 years or weighing less than 20 kg). Always give this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has advised. This double-strength formula contains twice the ibuprofen concentration of standard suspensions. Usual dosing for pain and fever: 79 years 5 ml (200 mg ibuprofen) three times in 24 hours; 1012 years 7.5 ml (300 mg ibuprofen) three times in 24 hours. Doses should be given approximately every 68 hours, leaving at least 4 hours between doses. Do not exceed the stated dose. For oral use only: shake well, use the appropriate end of the measuring spoon, pour onto the spoon and administer, then replace the cap and wash the spoon. Use for the shortest time necessary; consult a doctor if symptoms persist or if treatment is needed for more than 3 days. Each ml contains 40 mg ibuprofen (each 5 ml = 200 mg; each 2.5 ml = 100 mg). Other ingredients include polysorbate 80, glycerol, maltitol liquid, saccharin sodium, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, xanthan gum, sodium chloride, orange or strawberry flavour (strawberry contains wheat starch), domiphen bromide and purified water. Do not give to children allergic to ibuprofen/NSAIDs or with a history of NSAID-induced asthma, gastrointestinal bleeding, severe liver/kidney or heart failure, or severe dehydration.
