The BSP male thread mates with standard steel gas pipework, while the 25mm MDPE end takes yellow gas pipe directly, with the insert stiffener supplied to maintain the MDPE's shape under compression. The galvanised malleable iron body meets BS EN 10255 and BS EN 10220, and the fitting is rated to 7 bar at 20°C — though the actual maximum operating pressure in a given installation also depends on the specification of the MDPE pipe being connected, not the fitting alone.
