This product is awater based acrylicprimer paint with anti-corrosive properties to prevent rust formation, this product should be applied to bare metal before applying any other acrylic based Everest Trade Paints topcoats. Ideal for all types of metal implements, tools, structures in and around gardens, farms, houses and factories. Ultimate Metal Primer is quick drying, easy to apply and is easily cleaned up. SURFACE PREPARATION Ensure all surfaces are sound and clean, free from dust, dirt, grease, wax and flaking paint. Ensure surface is completely dry and free from condensation and damp. Smooth glossy surfaces should be lightly abraded to provide a key. Remove any loose or flaking paint. Non-ferrous surfaces: Lightly abrade to a bright surface. No need to etch or pre prime galvanised steel. Allow new galvanised steel to be weathered for two months before painting with Everest Trade Paints Metal Primer. Ferrous surfaces: On mild steel remove as much rust as possible (preferably cleaning to Swedish standard SA2) apply a first coat of Everest Trade Paints Metal Primer as shop primer, within two hours of cleaning COLOURS AVAILABLE Mid Grey Red Oxide This product can also be mixed to any BS 4800 and RAL colours. SPREADING RATE (Coverage) Approximately8 - 12 square metres per litre per coat whenapplied by brush or roller depending on the texture and porosity of the substrate. Spraying will considerably reduce the coverage rate depending on the type of spray equipment used. Airless spray systems for example coverage will be reduced to approximately 6-8sq meters/litre per coat. When using a tip size of 13-15 thou @ 50-70angle and a pump pressure of 2500 P.S.I. DRYING TIME Touch Dry: 2-4 hours at 18C Overcoatable: 4 hours at 18C Fully hardened after one month. Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. APPLICATION Brush, Roller, or Spray. Apply by brush, roller, conventional H.V.L.P or airless spray. Stir well and check colour before use. Do not apply at air or surface temperatures below 8C or when likely to rain before the paint has fully dried. On ferrous surfaces some flash rusting may occur, especially if below the dew point. This is expected and will not affect the anti-corrosive properties of the product. In most cases only one coat is required but occasionally a second coat may be required to ensure maximum durability and build. STORAGE PRECAUTIONS Store away from heat and flames. Secure lid between uses to prevent paint hardening. CLEANER / THINNERS Clean up with warm soapy water. Remove as much product as possible prior to cleaning. BATCH INFORMATION We recommend ordering all the paint required in one order so you receive the same batch, ordering on differentdates will result in receiving differentbatches which may result in a shade difference. This is fine if you are planning on using the differentbatches on differentcoats, However, it's not recommended to use on the same coat.
