The body and rotor of the Wychwood Riot Big Pit reel have been moulded from high-strength, yet incredibly lightweight graphite to keep the overall weight of the reel down to a minimum. When coupled with any of their high performance rods, the Wychwood Riot Big Pit balances perfectly, improving casting performance and making playing fish a pleasure not a chore. Thanks to the unique design of the spool and the superb line-lay, line flies off superbly when casting as the line leaves the spool in tighter loops than on larger reels, improving line flow through rods rung with the standard 40mm butt to 12mm tip ringing pattern. The tighter loops produced by the Riot also help to reduce line-wraps around the butt ring that can sometimes occur when using thick lines when power casting. When designing the Riot Big Pit, Wychwood also paid particular attention to the micro-pitch front drag, which allows you to go from almost free-running to locked down in the minimum number of turns, without affecting the smoothness of the drag.
