These kits are designed to be installed over an existing floor and can be laid onto any solid level surface including tiles, concrete or wood and do not require additional insulation installed beneath. The high density of the boards allows for all types of flooring to be used including tiles. These are rapid response heating kits capable of heating all rooms including conservatories, assuming heat loss calculations have been carried out to ensure adequate performance. The overlay boards MUST be bonded to the floor using the inclusive floor adhesive and cannot be installed dry as a floating floor. Failure to follow correct installation guidelines can result in very costly mistakes. Please ensure you have read our installation guide before installing this system. Flooring Advice: ⬥ Carpets: lay an equal depth baton around the room perimeter to provide a solid substrate to nail gripper rods to. Prime surface using Mapei Eco Prim Grip then lay a 5mm self levelling screed to provide a flat, level surface. ⬥ Engineered wood & laminate: include a moisture barrier over the boards before laying flooring. Flooring can be laid either as a floating floor or bonded to the boards using Mapei Ultrabond Eco S955 wood adhesive. ⬥ Tiles: prime surface using Mapei Eco Prim Grip then bond straight to the boards use a highly deformable flexible S2 adhesive. ⬥ Vinyl & Karndean: prime surface using Mapei Eco Prim Grip then lay a 5mm self levelling screed to provide a flat, level surface. Overlay Kit Installation Overview: We advise laying a 5mm self levelling screed as the subfloor must be perfectly level before laying the boards. The floor must also be clean and free of any debris to provide a strong key for the adhesive. The adhesive is spread across the floor and each board is bonded to the floor. Wait for the adhesive to cure before walking over the boards. The pipe can then be walked into the pre-formed grooves. Pipe clips are not required to hold pipe in place.
