This underfloor screed kit is made to be installed onto a foiled insulation board and covered by a screed, these kits are best suited to new builds and extensions. They can operate as the rooms' primary heat source and will work with all types of floor coverings including carpet, vinyl, laminate, engineered wood and tiles. The standard output kits use 200mm pipe centres, making them capable of heating all well insulated rooms with standard heat loss. To maximise the output of your heating system, please use the following guidelines: ⬥ Carpets: do not exceed 2.5 tog rating carpet & underlay combined ⬥ Engineered wood & laminate: the flooring depth must not exceed 25mm ⬥ Tiles & Stone: advise the inclusion of a decoupling layer (Ditra Mat or similar) to accommodate different expansion rates ⬥ Vinyl & Karndean: use a tile backer board or thin ply to provide a flat, level surface before bonding flooring to Please note carefully: if wood-based flooring is used, a floor probe MUST be included to limit the floor temperature to 27 degree celsius. Screed Kit Installation Overview: 100mm of foil backed insulation is laid onto a level subfloor. The pipe is fixed to the insulation using pipe staples supplied in the kit, then covered by a 65mm screed (see picture attached). Alternative fixtures like clip rails and pipe trays can be used in place of staples and are recommended for larger areas to greatly reduce installation times.
