47 x 100mm C16 Kiln Dried, Regged and Graded Timber - Treated Also referred to as 2 x 4" or 4 x 2". Sizes stated are pre-finished and may vary slightly. As the timber is 'regularised' (regged) it has been eased to give safer, rounded edges and consistent dimensions. This means actual size is usually 5mm less on the width and 2mm less on the depth. C16 Stress Graded Sawn Treated Timber is the most commonly used timber. Generally used for floor joists and roof timbers. C16 refers to the softwood strength class. In some instances, a better grade of C24 maybe supplied due to local stocks. Treated with high pressure Tanalith E or similar preservative to protect against insects and fungus, also maximising life-span of timber. England and Wales Timber Treatment Use Class 3.
